The
Toastmaster's principal remit is to ensure that everything appears
to run smoothly and to plan. To facilitate this, the Toastmaster co-ordinates
the roles, responsibilities and activities of everyone involved in the
event, from venue management staff, caterers, to photographers, pipers
and musicians, and of course, not forgetting to look after the Host and
the Guests!
His duties are discharged diligently, but in a friendly fashion and with
an extra splash of colour and showmanship.
A
wedding reception without worry
The Toastmasters
principal role at a wedding is to ensure that the Reception proceeds smoothly
and to plan. In so doing, the catering staff are free to concentrate on
their duties, and the Host and Hostess can relax and enjoy the occasion.
The burden
of responsibilities on the Best Man can be left in the capable hands of
your professional Master of Ceremonies. Of course, he also gives support
to the Bride and Bridegroom, the Bridesmaids and the rest of the Bridal
Party.
He will
create a friendly atmosphere which is as formal or informal as you so
wish, reassure the nervous, and with his extra touch of colour and showmanship,
make the Big Day even more memorable for everyone, particularly the happy
couple!
Among
the duties undertaken by the Toastmaster are :
Advise
on Wedding Etiquette and Customs during the Planning
Formally greet the Bride and Groom at the Reception Venue
Bridal Party Receiving Line
Entrance of Bride & Groom and Guests into Reception Area
Introduction/Announcement of Grace
Conduct the Toasts and introduce/announce the Speakers
Ceremony of Cutting the Cake
If required he will also read cards and other messages of congratulations
Other
duties that can be undertaken are :
Announcing the guests as they arrive for the evening reception
Introducing the Bride and Groom for the first dance
and of course any other announcements that may be required during the
evening reception.
These
are just some of the tasks that your Toastmaster will be pleased to perform.
